CLEVELAND, Ohio (Aug. 5, 2015) – The second annual NEOCycle Night Ride presented by Cuyahoga Community College will once again offer an exclusive opportunity for participants to bike Cleveland’s Memorial Shoreway, the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission announced Wednesday. The incredibly unique casual ride - part of the nation’s first and only urban cycling festival, NEOCycle presented by Ohio Savings Bank - will begin at Edgewater Park at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 12. The race route for NEOCycle’s Criterium competition in Battery Park was also released Tuesday.

Registration for all NEOCycle races and rides is open now at www.NEOCycle.org. Registration for the Night Ride costs $35 for adults and $20 for youth and includes an official event t-shirt and custom tube wrap bike light. Criterium racers can register for $35 with the competition featuring over $3,000 in prize money and primes.

“We are ecstatic to bring the NEOCycle Night Ride back to the historic Memorial Shoreway,” said David Gilbert, President and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. “Watching nearly 1,500 cyclists light up the Shoreway last year was a special moment, and this year we look forward to welcoming over 2,000 cyclists to Cleveland’s most unique cycling experience. In just its second year, NEOCycle has developed tremendous momentum and continues to highlight Cleveland and our abundant cycling culture and infrastructure and create significant economic activity.”

The Night Ride will begin at NEOCycle’s festival - The Hub at Edgewater Park presented by Subaru – where riders will begin by entering the eastbound Shoreway via Edgewater Park. The route will take cyclists along the Shoreway past the East 9th Street exit where cyclists will make a u-turn and return west towards Edgewater Park. Cyclists will continue past the entrance to lower Edgewater Park, make a right turn on Lake Avenue and re-enter the Shoreway via the West Boulevard on-ramp. Riders may then reenter Edgewater Park via the Edgewater Park exit ramp or continue for a second loop of the course. The course measures 8.75 miles in distance. A full interactive route map can be found at www.NEOCycle.org.

The Night Ride will close the eastbound lanes of the Memorial Shoreway between Lake and the Municipal Parking Lot from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12. The westbound lanes of Lake Avenue between Clifton and West Boulevard will also be closed for the event.

The NEOCycle Criterium, operated by Case Cycling, will utilize a 0.6-mile route in Cleveland’s Battery Park neighborhood on Sunday, September 13. The route will use West 76th Street, Herman Avenue, West 73rd Street and Father Frascati between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The nation’s first and only urban cycling festival, NEOCycle combines five unique races and rides with live music at an action-filled festival at The Hub at Edgewater Park on the beautiful shores of Lake Erie. NEOCycle rides and races include the NEOCycle Night Ride presented by Cuyahoga Community College; MCPc Fundo presented by Bike Cleveland; Edgewater Cyclocross; Criterium; and Velodrome presented by C.A. Litzler Co., Inc. The Hub at Edgewater Park will feature the NEOCycle Music Fest presented by ERC, which will be headlined by Jr. Jr. (formerly known as Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.).
