“The NEOCycle Night Ride route will provide an incredibly unique cycling experience as hundreds of riders light up the Shoreway,” said David Gilbert, President and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. “The route will offer a one-of-a-kind view of the downtown Cleveland skyline at night as well as the beautiful Lake Erie shore. We are excited to offer such an amazing opportunity for both Clevelanders and visitors and to continue the development of cycling in our community. We thank our partners at the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Cleveland Metroparks and Cuyahoga Community College for their support in staging the Night Ride.”

The Night Ride will begin at NEOCycle’s festival - The Hub at Edgewater Park presented by Subaru – where riders will begin by entering the eastbound Shoreway via Edgewater Park. After traversing the Shoreway, cyclists will exit onto West 6th Street and travel around the north side of FirstEnergy Stadium and past the Great Lakes Science Center and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. A rest stop with refreshments, DJ and bicycle support team will be stationed at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Participants will then re-enter the eastbound lanes of the Shoreway at East. 9th Street, travel west and exit using the West 45th Street onramp. Cyclists will then travel west on Detroit Avenue, through the Gordon Square Arts & Entertainment District and north to Battery Park where cyclists will re-enter Edgewater Park via the West 76th Street pedestrian tunnel. Full tour riders will re-enter the Shoreway to continue their ride, while half tour riders will bike to the finish line at The Hub at Edgewater Park. A full interactive route map can be found at www.neocycle.org.

“The NEOCycle Night Ride is a great opportunity to experience the Gordon Square neighborhood,” said Cleveland City Councilman Matt Zone. “The route highlights the amazing variety of bars, restaurants, theatres and retail, while showcasing the new bike lanes on Detroit Avenue. We are so excited to show how easily the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood is connected to the heart of the city with an easy commute. Furthermore, participants of this unique tour will see the Arts District, Downtown and the Shoreway making this an unbelievably special ride. Really, how cool is it to get a chance to see all of that and BIKE on the Shoreway under safe conditions? I can’t wait!”

All cyclists receive a Micro Sport Headlight courtesy of Energizer and a flashing tail light courtesy of GE Lighting to help light up the Shoreway. The Night Ride will also featuring several contests, with prizes for the best costume, best decorated bike and more.
