  • NEOCYCLE NIGHT RIDE ROUTE ANNOUNCED

CLEVELAND (August 15, 2016) – On Saturday, Sept. 10, cyclists of all skill levels are invited to ride Cleveland’s Memorial Shoreway as a part of the third annual NEOCycle Night Ride presented by Cuyahoga Community College. The course, which will open from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., will begin at The Hub at Edgewater Park, presented by Subaru, and extend along the Memorial Shoreway. In addition to exclusive views of Downtown Cleveland and Lake Erie, the first 2,500 people to register for the Night Ride will receive a T-shirt and bike light.

“The NEOCycle Night Ride is a unique opportunity for Cleveland and cycling enthusiasts alike to celebrate the growing culture of this sport throughout our community,” said David Gilbert, president and CEO, Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. “Hosting one of the largest urban cycling festivals in the nation not only drives economic activity for our region, but also highlights another important component of Cleveland’s offering to recreational sports fans around the country.”

Riders will arrive at The Hub at Edgewater Park where they will begin the Night Ride by entering the eastbound Shoreway via Edgewater Park. The route will take cyclists along the Shoreway past the E. 9th Street exit where they will make a U-turn to head west back toward Edgewater Park. Cyclists will continue along the eastbound Shoreway and make a left turn on the Edgewater Park entrance ramp. Riders may then re-enter Edgewater Park via the Edgewater Park entrance ramp or continue for a second loop of the course, with the course closing at 10:00 p.m. The course measures 7.32 miles in distance. For more information about the route, visit Map My Ride.

The Night Ride will close the eastbound lanes of the Memorial Shoreway between Lake and the Municipal Parking Lot from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10. While the Shoreway will be under continued renovation, these lanes will be available for cyclists. We continue to coordinate efforts to ensure your safety but please review and follow the official ride rules and procedures at www.NEOCycle.org.

The nation’s first and only urban cycling festival, NEOCycle combines five sole races and rides with live music at an action-filled festival. After completing the Night Ride, cyclists can enjoy the free festival with live music from Wild Child, The Floorwalkers, The Lighthouse and The Whaler and The Moxies. The Hub

at Edgewater Park will also feature cycling and outdoor lifestyle vendors, stand-up paddle board races and demos, beer garden and Cleveland’s famous food trucks.
